Financial Aid & Scholarship Programs
Our goal is to make our unique school environment as economically accessible as possible to families across Central Virginia. We are pleased to offer financial aid and scholarship programs for families and students who qualify. At this time financial aid and scholarship programs are only available to students in the Elementary Academy and the Douglass School. Please note that students cannot be considered for need based tuition assistance and merit scholarship programs in the same academic year.
Need Based Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance is available on the basis of demonstrated need. If you believe that your resources are not sufficient to meet the total costs of a Richmond Prep education, you are encouraged to apply.
TADS provides a framework through which household need can be measured fairly and equitably. Recommendations from TADS are used by the Richmond Prep award committee in accordance with its policies to determine the award amount. Final awards notices will be mailed by the committee. There is a $35 fee paid directly to TADS by each applying family. More information about TADS is available here.
The following supporting documentation must be submitted to TADS via mail or fax prior to the application due date of July 15, 2018 to complete the application process:
- Household members' most recently completed federal tax forms (personal and businesses owned)
- W-2's from each job held by household members
- Most recent pay stub from each job held by household members
- Documents that establish the amount of miscellaneous monthly or yearly income you currently receive (i.e., welfare, food stamps, unemployment, workers' compensation, etc.,)
- All corporate, partnership, and trust forms if a household member owns 20% or more interest in a corporation, partnership or trust
Before completing the Financial Aid Application, it is important for families to complete the Financial Aid Worksheet. Completing the worksheet will insure you have all of the information you will need to submit for your application. Please bear in mind, as this is our first year offering this program, the window for application submission is very brief. To qualify, families should do their bests to expedite the submission of their paperwork.
