The Inner Court Dance Ministry – School of Liturgical Dance offers instruction in Liturgical Dance (Praise and Worship) for Children (ages 5-13) and Adults (ages 14 & up). We don’t teach just dance; we study the basics of worship arts, from dance in the Old and New Testaments to the meanings of colors, the use of flags, banners, and instruments of praise, Spiritual Disciplines for the Performing Artist, and God’s Garments (attire for dance ministry).
Julinda D. Lewis earned a B.S. and M.A. in Dance and Dance Education from New York University, and birthed the Spiritual Walking Dance Ministry (now Temples of Praise) at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY and the Ayinde Dance Ministries at Saint Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. Minister Lewis , who is also the author of two books, Alvin Ailey: A Life in Dance (a young adult biography) and Black Choreographers Moving Towards the Twentieth Century, and a dance and theatre critic for The Richmond Times-Dispatch, as well as the Virginia State Coordinator and Assistant Eastern Region Coordinator for the International Dance Commission, became an ordained Minister of Dance in September 2009, after completing the dance ministry program at Calvary Bible Institute and Seminary – School of Liturgical Dance in Martinez, GA.

Marie Hayes – Adult Gospel Aerobics
Marie Hayes has been formally trained by the Richmond School of Ballet and Jessica School of Dance as an enhancement to her God-given gift of dance. She has taught private lessons as well as produced dance musicals in local area high schools. She birthed, with Min. Julinda Lewis, the Ayinde Liturgical Dance Ministries at Saint Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia and Chinyere Dance Ministry at Abner Baptist Church in Glen Allen, VA. Marie believes that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God. You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) To worship God is use your entire temple, inside and outside, as an instrument for God’s Glory. Therefore, through proper exercise and care, the satisfaction of results puts a smile not only on your face, but on His face as well.
